Hello, my name is Katrina and I write romance novels. Yes, it sounds like a confession because it is. I don’t understand people who write for enjoyment – I write because the people in my head will not shut up. Some might call it an obsession…and they would be correct. I read my first Harlequin in the third grade and can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to write my own stories. I started my first book in tenth grade, but never finished it. I then started my first adult romance novel in college while avoiding my school work, but since I majored in English Literature, I convinced myself it was for the greater good. Seventeen years later, it’s complete at 135,000 words. What finally motived me to finish it? My husband, through many, many conversations about following your passion. For what else is there for me, but to write? I never thought of it as a career, just something I would do “someday”. Someday is here and my life is complete. I live in north Texas where I pursue the dream while raising my two boys and waking up every day thrilled to be married to someone who gets me.
